After nearly a year of effort, our new application suite

Process Plant Design 7.0

has been released. 

The release includes the following new features:  

General

  • Support for Oracle® 11g
  • Support for Windows7, including 64-bit systems
  • Double-click functions in Drafting, IPID and Vectorpipe
  • Mouse zoom improvements
  • Dynamic mouse viewport rotation
  • Support for Open Type Text Fonts, for example, Arial
  • 3-D Import and Export
  • Revamped shading and hidden line removal
  • New License Manager
  • Extended region selection via mouse
  • Easier setting of layer, class, and pen
  • New Commands for Sorting and aligning graphics
  • New X-, Y- and Z-axis-parallel SPIMS

Drafting

  • 3-D Import of AutoCAD® DWG and ACIS® SAT files. Additional Formats (CATIA V4, V5, V6, Creo, Pro/ENGINEER, NX UG, Inventor, SolidWorks, IGES, DWG, STEP, Parasolid, ACIS, TransMagic) are made possible with optional modules from our partner TransMagic
  • A simple double-click on a graphic element allows attributes such as layer, class, pen, text font and size, line weight, crosshatch type and scaling to be viewed and changed
  • Extended Redo Function
  • The Edit toolbar is enhanced with a "Repeat last selection" function
  • Reworked parametric nuts and bolts symbols
  • New freehand sketch function

IPID

  • User-level drawing locking
  • Double-click on components provides direct access to component data
  • Improved stability
  • Improved performance
  • New "Select by ID" function
  • Line break function corrections

Vectorpipe®

  • Easier 3-D point input via new X-, Y- and Z-axis-parallel SPIMS
  • CTRL-Right-Mouse can be used to rotate the model about the last point input (LPI) in 3-D. CTRL-SHIFT-Right-Mouse constrains the rotation about the Z axis
  • Double-click on components provides direct access to component data
  • Direct 3-D Export to AutoCAD® DWG and ACIS® SAT files. Additional formats (CATIA V4, V5, V6, Creo, Pro/ENGINEER, NX UG, Inventor, SolidWorks, IGES, DWG, STEP, Parasolid, ACIS, TransMagic) are made possible using  optional Add-On software from our partner TransMagic
  • Improved selection in 3-D viewports
  • Automatic piping along 3-D guidelines

DBTools

  • Project Synchronization Tool allows Project databases on physically separate systems to be synchronized
  • New VectorAdmin (Database Administration Tool) interface
