Drafting – Design with Integrated Database Access
Drafting is an innovative design software to create precise engineering drawings. An easy-to-learn application, it facilitates drafting for engineers, designers, architects and design drafts-people, as well as other technical employees.
Drafting is an integral part of Process Plant Design and provides comprehensive functions for creating drawings of any kind. Included are special functions for working in conjunction with Vectorpipe. The OrthoDraft plug-in takes views generated from the Vectorpipe model and allows them to be arranged in drawings to be annotated and dimensioned. The connection to the database is automatically retained, so that component information such as descriptive text, item numbers or markings stored in the database are directly available. Isometrics generated from Vectorpipe can also be reworked and extended.
Both 2D and 3D graphics can Drafting be created. Moreover, Drafting allows vector and raster graphics to be combined into a composite file, with full control over ordering and overlay. For example, high-level presentations can be generated which combine site photos with the proposed design of the 3D model.
You can create your own 3-D components for use in Vectorpipe, or 2-D symbols for use in IP&ID. Graphics can also be imported from (and exported to) a number of external formats, including AutoCAD® DWG PostScript, CGM, JPEG and TIFF. Additional 3-D formats can be imported via Ingradata's partner TransMagic®, and subsequently edited for use in Vectorpipe.
Application Highlights:
- Rich drawing tools
